INTOLERANCE
Six from the office going out for a meal,
Collected all the vouchers so they get a good deal,
They’re looking for a place with a broad appeal,
Let’s hope they have a really good time.
Gluten-free Gail’s with Payroll Barb,
Barb’s on a diet and won’t touch the carbs,
Clare will only eat food based on plants,
Let’s hope they have a really good time.
Nut-free Debbie avoids all dairy,
Intermittent fasting from HR Mary,
Raging with hunger, they’re looking quite scary,
They need to have a really good time.
Karen makes requests that everyone’s ignoring,
She’s on the paleo and consequently boring,
They roam down the high street desperately exploring,
Do you think they’ll have a really good time?
Into the food fair that Debbie’s just seen,
All types of food - international cuisine,
Clare nods approval – she’s already been,
Here they’ll have a really good time.
Disappointing cartons of fusion cooking,
Mary bins hers when no one’s looking,
Barb’s back on carbs - she goes for a pudding,
She’s trying to have a really good time.
Karen bores Clare who just can’t escape her,
Gail pops out and joins the other vapers,
Barb’s in the loo and there’s not enough paper,
For her this is not a good time.
Taxi! Taxi! Scrabbling for money,
Gail’s gone pale, she feels a bit funny,
Dairy-free Debbie has a bloated tummy,
And no-carb Barb is still a bit runny,
Mary’s still chewing, annoyed at being hurried,
Clare has a fall, now her tights are bloodied,
And Karen throws a strop but the others aren’t worried,
Because they’ve all had a really good time.
